We heard a whisper a few weeks ago that there was some more works in the making and finally got a chance to catch up with her to not only confirm the rumours, but to bring you her latest track EXCLUSIVELY on Atomic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us about the single you are dropping…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The single I’m releasing is called “Same Old Song”. I wrote this back in 2016, which was a year of rapid growth for me as a performing musician.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Same Old Song is about going through changes in life and feeling like you’re all alone on your life’s journey. Feeling like no-one else knows how you feel when in reality, almost everyone feels the same way. This song for me was about being aware that there are people who know how I felt and was a way of reaching out to others who felt the same. Letting them know they’re not really alone in life.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why this song as your first release in years!? What makes it special?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know really… I think given the “ball of fun” 2020 has been for the world, this feels like the right song to release! It’s a call to arms for a broken society and spreads a message I feel we all need to hear.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have had two top charting releases on Atomic and were one of the first artists to engage in our network then suddenly disappeared. Where the hell did you go?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve still been around… Here and there haha (sic). I did take some time off to have a family and I really wanted to spend some time to enjoy being a mum. My kids are awesome and I love being a mum but never really left the stage for too long. I was still doing shows while I was pregnant and only recently took a few months off. I guess I’ve been more focused on playing shows than being in the studio BUT I’m super pumped to be back on the original bandwagon again! I’ve really missed it!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This track is a hugely different vibe to the tracks on your EP. What was the inspiration for the music?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really wanted to express another side of what my music sounds like and this song is another example of what I can produce when locked away in a sound proof room… Obviously with the help of an awesome producer!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you have any features on the track with you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This whole track was done purely by myself and my producer, Joel Sulman. I feel like Joel did most of the work… (thanks Joel!).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are all aware random sh%t goes on in the studio… Any crazy stories you can let us in on?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So at the time of tracking this song, I was living in Wollongong and traveling back and forth to Albury to get this project done. Traveling at 90km’s an hour (Red P’s… ergh) was exhausting and on session, I was so exhausted, when it came to tracking the drums, I fell asleep right next to the drum-kit in the tracking room and slept the whole way through it! I’m pretty sure we even recorded me snoring at one point!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I heard a rumour there is an Album in the works? Care to shed any light on this one?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel like I’m waaaaay overdue for an album… I don’t know yet though… We’ll just have to see if I get around to it \ud83d\ude09<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
