Victory lies in overcoming obstacles every day. Some peoples\nare bigger than others but it\u2019s all relative to you and your life to that point\nis never going to be the exact same as anyone else. So of course we will all\noperate differently when faced with adversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"622\" height=\"932\" src=\"http:\/\/mag.atomicmusic.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-12.58.21-am.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radio.atomicmusic.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-12.58.21-am.png 622w, https:\/\/radio.atomicmusic.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-12.58.21-am-600x899.png 600w, https:\/\/radio.atomicmusic.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Screen-Shot-2020-07-02-at-12.58.21-am-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 622px) 100vw, 622px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I\ndon\u2019t believe in necessarily dwelling on the past but sometimes you need to be\nreminded how far you\u2019ve come in order to forge forward and take steps further\ninto the future. &nbsp;This week I was\nreminded of a man who helped shape me and one who was there with me to fight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\nreinforced some home truths you need to be around those who feed your soul, not\nthe ones that feed off it. Having a heap of vacuum cleaner type people around\nyou sucking all life from you isn\u2019t helpful in anyway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life isn\u2019t always easy and to be honest no growth comes from sitting in comfort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All\nthis is part of the process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Diamonds form under <strong>PRESSURE<\/strong><\/li><li>Grapes must first be <strong>CRUSHED<\/strong> to make\nprecious wine<\/li><li>Olives are <strong>PUSHED<\/strong> to their limits to release\noil<\/li><li>Seeds grow in the <strong>DARKNESS<\/strong> not when the sun\nis shining<\/li><li>A pearl is created from <strong>FRICTION<\/strong> when an\nirritant works it\u2019s way into an Oyster.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou are ever feeling <strong>Crushed<\/strong>, <strong>Friction<\/strong>, <strong>Under Pressure<\/strong>,<strong>\nPressed<\/strong> or in<strong>\nDarkness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You\u2019re in a supremely powerful position to\ntransform yourself.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultimately,\nit\u2019s your choice. <strong>You have the power.<\/strong>&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\nis homage to a man who left a lasting impression on me one that faced all of\nthe above and rarely looked back.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>To the man with skinnier legs than mine&#8230; Quite a few\nyears back I was in hospital and got a quite unexpected visit from you. Just\n&#8216;popping in&#8217; on the way home from the sale yards on a Tuesday.&nbsp; So opened\nthe door to a friendship I will forever miss.&nbsp; When we were told we were\nstuffed we told them to get stuffed. Curve balls bowled at you, side stepped\nand sent &#8216;back to the pavilion&#8217;. Your short leg made missing those fast bowls a\nlittle trickier so you would cop it on the chin then send them back\nagain.&nbsp; Never once complaining about the hand you&#8217;d been dealt.&nbsp; Life\nwas meant to be lived and if there is one thing that we agreed on is not to\ndwell on the shit bits this gets us no closer to the good bits.&nbsp; Be\nthankful and make the most of what you have.&nbsp; Look after those around you\ndo so with a smile and laugh. It&#8217;s so important to laugh. Laugh in the face of\nadversity. Laughter is the best medicine and if those doctors could have\nbottled yours we would all be fine. Stick it to the man and if someone tells you\nit&#8217;s impossible prove them wrong. <br>\nHow very fortunate we are to have been blessed with the joy that IS Lawrence\nPacker<br>\nThis man led from the front yet pushed us from behind.&nbsp; He squeezed every\ndrop out of those lemons chucked at him and made the sweetest lemonade. The\nlegacy he leaves behind .. His beautiful wife, children and grandchildren. The\nlives he blessed with his presence is the sweetest elixir of all.<br>\nRest easy old man.
