He&#8217;s definitely\nsomeone you want to see live at least once in your life! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By\nday, Jackson is a Contracts Administrator for a small-medium sized construction\ncompany. By night, his musical passion comes to life. I asked Jackson what he\nthinks his music style is and this was his response:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;\u2018Folk\u2019\ncomes to mind, but I really think \u2018Singer-Songwriter\u2019 captures the feel of my\nmusic best.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/stream.atomicmusic.space\/?p=embed\/track\/477-dust&amp;color=ff38fd\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackson\nmentioned that his style of music isn&#8217;t suited to a specific venue: he&#8217;s very\nversatile and is actually working with an EDM artist at the moment, so who\nknows, we may hear Jackson in a nightclub! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackson\nQuinnell hasn\u2019t always been an Albury\/Wodonga local. He grew up on a farm near\nTumut in the Snowy Mountains and was raised by a truly amazing Mum and Dad,\nalongside two beautiful siblings and a lot of extended family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackson\nsaid it was amazing as a young boy growing up and experiencing things a young\nboy should &#8211; like fishing, hunting, swimming in rivers, camping, exploring,\nbuilding things, even looking after injured wildlife. He said that Tumut isn&#8217;t\nwithout its fair share of problems, but outdoor fun, clean air and camping\nlocations are not among them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img src=\"https:\/\/mag.atomicmusic.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Dani-Sanderson-1024x692.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3865\"\/><figcaption>Photo by Dani Sanderson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Before\nmoving to Albury\/Wodonga, Jackson was living in Melbourne for 3 and &#8220;a\nbit&#8221; years. He moved here for the love of the city\/country vibe and the\naccess to amazing parts of Australia, such as the snow, mountains and the wine\nregions &#8211; as well as to be closer to his Dad and sister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackson&#8217;s\nmusic passion started with singing hymns at Friday afternoon mass at his\nCatholic school. There was something satisfying about hitting those notes, and\nunbeknownst to his close friends, he actually enjoyed it. He was 8 years old\nwhen he was given his first acoustic guitar from his beautiful Grandma and\nGrandpa. Jackson said he taught himself &#8216;You&#8217;re Beautiful&#8217; by James Blunt and\nhis Mum must have thought it sounded alright (or that he needed practice)\nbecause she enrolled him in guitar lessons and it all snowballed from there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His\npersonal life aside, I needed to get down to the nitty gritty &#8211; his original\nmusic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/stream.atomicmusic.space\/?p=embed\/track\/664-nowhere-town&amp;color=ff38fa\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackson\nhas released 4 singles and has had 3 of them place in the <em>Atomic Hundred\nMost Radioactive Hits of 2019<\/em> Charts. He said having 3 out of 4 place in\nthe charts is a very rewarding feeling: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I\ncould never have done it without my dear listeners\/supporters, they are\neverything to me and they are the reason I record all this music instead of\nkeeping it to myself. I can&#8217;t explain how much I appreciate them.&#8221;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jackson\ndoesn&#8217;t have a specific favourite out of the four tracks that he&#8217;s released,\nsaying they are all very special to him because he has captured places and\nemotions in each one. Douglas and Caprice is one he loves to play live because\nit&#8217;s more upbeat than the others, whereas he loves simply just listening to\nNowhere Town because it takes him back to a place he loves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/mag.atomicmusic.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Charlie-Cottam-3-e1581243923227-1024x735.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3863\"\/><figcaption>Jackson Quinnell by Charlie Cottam<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When\nI asked what the inspiration for his music was, he proceeded to tell me that\nhe&#8217;s not entirely sure where the inspiration comes from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;At\ntimes, I feel an extremely strong sense of emotion or nostalgia sometimes\ntoward a certain feeling, place or a memory and I am compulsively compelled to\nwrite it down and try and capture it with music.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\nknow a lot of people that love Jackson&#8217;s music so I <strong>had<\/strong> to ask if an\nalbum or EP was in the works. He let me know that he&#8217;d love to release an album\nonce a month but his pockets aren&#8217;t very deep these days (trust me, myself and\nmany others know the feeling). He will hopefully be releasing as many singles\nas possible as he has a vast supply of original songs that he&#8217;s written and\nwants to record!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/stream.atomicmusic.space\/?p=embed\/track\/519-windmills&amp;color=f538ff\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Another\nquestion that came up was if he was taking a break from music. He and his\nFianc\u00e9 Cindy welcomed a baby boy, James Jackson Quinnell, into the world &#8211; and\nby the way, he is the cutest baby I&#8217;ve seen! Jackson started off by saying that\nhe&#8217;s a very proud father! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;My\nson and my Fianc\u00e9 are the centre of my universe! I don\u2019t think they will let me\nstop playing, Cindy knows how much it means to me. She encourages me every\nchance she gets and that\u2019s one of the many reasons I love her.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talk\nabout an &#8220;aww&#8221; moment! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My\nfinal question to Jackson was, &#8220;What are your thoughts on the local music industry?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nbegan with saying that he loves our music scene.
