We caught up with Nikky Thomas, the\nillustrious bassist from Toxic Dolls, Outlier and former member of our February\ncover band Stiletto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How long have you been\nrocking it out with Toxic Dolls?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve been playing\nwith the toxic dolls since April this year. So far, I’ve played about 10 gigs\nwith them. Every gig is a load of fun! We get to dress up in corsets and rock\nout to some of the best rock and pop tunes of the last 30\/40 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How\u2019s it going with your\nbrand-new band, Outlier?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outlier is going\ngreat! We’re a 3 piece, started by Jay Parrino (singer\/guitarist). Jay\u2019s had\nthe band for nearly 20 years. I’ve just started as their new bass player.\nOutlier plays quite regularly also in the Sydney surrounds. We cover songs from\nevery era and play a lot of stuff you wouldn’t hear your typical pub band to\nplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us your favourite\nthing about playing with Outlier these days?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is lots of things I love about playing with\nthem, I couldn’t name one! Probably the fact that Jay and Rose (drummer) are so\ntight and talented! But we have so much fun when we play together, there’s good\nvibes at every gig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We understand you\u2019ve\nrecently been endorsed by Mark Bass, what did they give you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Mark bass\nand Ernie ball endorsement, I get trade prices on all their stocked items,\nwhich can be up to 60% off retail price! And with the help of Jay (who is also\nendorsed by them) I was given a mark bass New York Ninja 122 cab with the\nmatching little Mark Ninja 1000 head, and 6 packs of Ernie Ball bass strings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you love what they gave\nyou?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I absolutely love what they gave me! To be honest\nI’m still pinching myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us a bit about how\nthey recognised you for endorsement?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was all thanks to jay, who sent a music bio on me. They recognised me for the fact I play with Jay frequently, and for the work I’ve done over the years. I played bass with other bands in the past, which we opened for highly recognised Australian music legends such as Mental as Anything, the Androids, the Chantoozies, Wilbur Wilde and the Vanns. I also got to play at the Deni Blues and Roots Festival in 2014 with Joel Sulman, and shared a stage with artists like John Mayer, Elvis Costello, the Doobie Brothers, Boz Scaggs just to name a few. I also got to join Steve Balbi (Noiseworks, Mi-sex) and open for him in Wagga on his Modern Love tour in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where can the punters\nexpect to see Nikky Thomas playing soon?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I play every weekend\nup in Sydney with the two bands! All events can be found on Facebook on our\nband pages – Toxic dolls and Outlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
