Morgan, how are you going?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> I\u2019m really good Josh, how are you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> I am absolutely fantastic and I was so glad to hear this tune come up because it&#8217;s given me some old school eighties rock vibes, power rock vibes, when I listen to it.&nbsp;We were chattin\u2019 just off-air before, tell the listeners how did this project come about, because this isn&#8217;t your first rodeo in music is it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LOVEMPIRE - Absolution State\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xj1qLyFf3DE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong>&nbsp;No I\u2019ve been writing songs for a while and have released some stuff under my name.&nbsp;I really wanted to do a rock band. Yeah so when everything was kind of shut down I just kind of kind of yeah, got together with a friend who\u2019s a sound engineer.&nbsp;We just multi-tracked, co-wrote the drums and bass. I played the guitars.&nbsp;Yeah kind of got started on something I\u2019d wanted to do for a while.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> So who is a producer you worked with on this one?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Well, I\u2019m actually the producer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Oh okay, right so you did it all yourself.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Yeah, I had an Engineer help me. I\u2019m not that great on the ProTools, I call it the toolbus. So Yeah, I got some help with that but I produced everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Fantastic and you recorded all the all the drums and the bass, or was that the engineer who came in and did a bit of that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Well what we did was we co-wrote\/programmed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> So you\u2019ve got the whole new EP out at the moment and Absolution State, how did this tune come about? Which I have memories of. That\u2019s what it\u2019s actually about.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Yeah right, that is quite different to what we hear most people say when they go, \u2018this is what I wrote my song about\u2019. That is really cool.&nbsp;So you call yourself a bit of a spiritual person?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> I\u2019m a bit of a weirdo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Ah not at all, weird is just a social construct my friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Yeah, I&#8217;m quite proud of it actually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Definitely.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Yeah I\u2019m actually a spiritual person, and I\u2019ve always been quite intuitive.&nbsp;So when I write a lot of the time I say a lot of it I don\u2019t really know what it\u2019s referring to.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Yeah right it&#8217;s really cool it&#8217;s quite as I said, it&#8217;s quite different. A lot people would say, \u2018this is about a break up or this was about partying\u2019, but you\u2019re like no, this is it, I\u2019m a spiritual person. I really dig that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Some songs are, yeah probably half the songs I write are like \u2018what is this about?\u2019 I have to figure it about myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong>&nbsp;If it sounds good that&#8217;s all that matters right.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Yeah I like it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Goodbye darkness Hello light is the name of the new E.P. and it&#8217;s out now everywhere is that correct?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Yes, everywhere digitally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Fantastic and how long did it take from start to finish? Because you said during Covid you&#8217;ve moved from your solo project towards Rock n Roll right. How long did it take for this transition?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> It took a long time, I was living in Joshua Tree in California and I had a huge life change.&nbsp;I was living in New York City before that and doing lots of music, but when I got the desert I kind of like had a life change, so I wrote a bit but not as much as I had before, I went through a lot of life so a a bunch of these songs have been around for a while<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Well they\u2019re finally pen to paper, music to earholes as I like to say and so obviously we\u2019ve been stuck because of Covid. Can&#8217;t really go gigging or anything like that but they\u2019re starting to open up restrictions a little bit and you can play venues a little bit. Are you planning to tour this bad boy at all or you got your shows sort of lined up already?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> Yeah.&nbsp;I\u2019m looking forward to doing that in the future. Soon hopefully<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> And you\u2019ve got a backing band all sorted, you have your members?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> No not yet, I\u2019m actually moving over to Perth. So I\u2019m going to set that up and get that going there, the live aspect.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> That is really cool. I love that story so much your writing process is so different anyone else. Your journey as well as quite different as well, unique.&nbsp;You use the word weird, I don&#8217;t like using the word weird, and I think you\u2019re unique.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> A lot nicer isn&#8217;t it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Positivity get those positive vibes going. Where can everyone find you on the socials Morgan? How can everyone follow this project of Lovempire?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> I use Instagram mostly but there is a Facebook account as well and there\u2019s a website as well but mostly Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/stream.atomicmusic.space\/embed\/track\/1504-absolution-state?color=ff38d3\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Hey Lovempire I\u2019ve got to ask, where does it come from? It&#8217;s missing an \u2018E\u2019 by looks of it.&nbsp;What&#8217;s the go with that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> I don\u2019t know I just like bands with one word names And I think there\u2019s also an obscure band, possibly not doing anything, that\u2019s called Love Empire with the two words so I thought I don\u2019t want to steal anyone else\u2019s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> That\u2019s a fair call and what inspired because I know we chatted about the shift from a solo to rock what made you, what bands inspired you to do that?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> You know what my favourite band today.&nbsp;I think they\u2019re actually the best band in the world but everyone probably thinks that their favourite band is the best band in the world, is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong>&nbsp;Everything about you is unique and I love it.&nbsp;I haven&#8217;t heard the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club used as a reference \u2018This is why I got into music\u2019, or \u2018this is why I changed my direction\u2019 before..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan:<\/strong> I\u2019ve always loved rock and roll, I grew up on that. You know I grew up in the age of Nirvana and the whole grunge thing was popular when I was younger but Yeah I think..&nbsp;a band should be aiming for, you know, to make something completely new and unique. Take what\u2019s already been made and progress it somehow beyond what\u2019s been done before. Because that\u2019s what art should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Josh:<\/strong> I hundred percent agree.
