Background:

The Atomic Top Twenty has become increasingly recognized as a measure of validation. Alongside the opportunity to gain National radio airplay, it is an invaluable promotional channel for local and independent artists.

Music uploaded to an artist profile on our Beta Mobile App is automatically eligible to chart in the Top Twenty. The selection of uploaded music for charting positions is subsequently determined by a range of criteria including like/dislike ratio’s, streaming figures and tipping.

1. Set Up An Artist Profile

First, ensure you have signed up for an account at https://atomicmusic.web.app

When You first sign up to Atomic, you will be creating a Listener profile by default.

You can use your ‘Listener’ profile to

• Discover new local music.
• Rate songs you like/dislike to hear more/less similar songs.
• Tip local artists and support them financially.
• Create playlists to replay music you love.
• Fan boy / Fan girl your favourite local artists.

If you want to upload your own music and be eligible to chart in the Top Twenty, you’ll need to create an Artist profile.

How to create an Artist Profile:

Step 1. Navigate to your Profile Page (bottom right)

Step 2. Open the Drop Down Menu (top right)

Step 3. Select “Create Artist Account” from the menu

Step 4. Complete the Account Set Up Details

Note: You can Switch between ‘Listener’ & ‘Artist’ Profiles using the “Switch Accounts” menu option.

For Prolific Artists, or Artist’s Managers, multiple Artist Profiles can be Created and maintained under one login.

2. Polish Your Profile

Step 1. Open the Drop Down Menu on your Artist Profile Page

Step 2. Select ‘Edit Profile’

Step 3. Complete the setup by adding a Handle & Bio

Pro Tip: Our Radio Jockeys (as well as Fan Boys & Fan Girls) appreciate it when you’ve set up an artist bio on your profile. It helps them better describe you on air and tell listeners all about your band!

3. Upload Your Music

We recommend uploading one song at a time and focusing on driving metrics on that single song. This will concentrate your results on getting the highest possible position in the weekly charts, rather than multiple low-charting positions for multiple singles.

How to Upload:

Step 1. Press the Upload button on your Artist Profile Page

Step 2. Complete the Music Upload Form

Tip: Make your description interesting and authentic, as this can cement new listeners discovering your music for the first time.

File specs: Audio files can be any format but must not exceed 10MB. You can compress files that are too large by using any online file compressor service.

Step 3. Submit by pressing ‘Upload Music’ once complete

A note on AI: We are doing our best to create real connections through music. While we appreciate the use of AI tools for efficiently creating compositions, we reserve the right to blacklist songs that do not contain any human elements from charting eligibility.
