GIG REVIEW: Rocking Redemption! Trick Shot and More Shine at Atomic Music’s ‘Can’t Stop the Rock’ Show in Adelaide!

Written by on 28 November 2023

It was felt in the air tonight. Electricity hummed, chords were strummed and there was no stopping the rock as Trick Shot once again laid down a marker to the scene as one of the best kept secret live acts going around town at the moment.

Atomic Music presented the ‘Can’t Stop the Rock’ show, their first dip into their expansion across Australia at the absolutely lovely Brewboys Brewery, just north of Adelaide. These guys do a seriously good beer and grub, definitely add them to your bucket list.

First up on the bill was JPH and The Dangerous Animals and they rollicked the house with tracks from their latest release, ‘Angst and Melodrama’. ‘Light a Cigarette’ was the crowd pleaser and word is the band are releasing their video for the track Dec 1. Their 90’s inspirations shone through, and they played with gusto, warming the crowd up perfectly.

Carl Dover and Three Deep were next to show us the redemptive nature of rock. Having taken a break from the live circuit for a hot little second, they returned with their pop/rock tunes that ran right into your ears and could easily be played on any radio station anywhere across the globe. ‘Turn it On’, ‘So Deep’ and ‘Finest Moments’ showcased what they are about and can do and had the crowd baying for more.

Bringing the night home were Trick Shot, and boy, they didn’t disappoint. From the thunderous drum opening of ‘High and Mighty’ through to the aptly titled ‘Fun’, these blokes know how to rock the night away whilst leaving you believing in the redemptive nature of rock. Their two new live tracks, ‘No One Wins Unless We All Win’ and ‘Make You Feel Alright’ slotted in seamlessly, with ‘No One Wins’ riding high on the Atomic Charts at Number 2 for the week.

A highly enjoyable evening of original music was held this night, make sure you catch these bands around town and before the word on the street turns into a shout from the rooftops! As always, support your local bands and venues, you just never know when it could be the last time they play or host an event.
