Radium explosion for Chris Miller!
Written by Atomic Newsroom on 17 June 2020
Chris Miller is no stranger to the world of Atomic… He has gone Radium for his track “Not Crazy”… The same track took out the Number 1 spot on the 2019 Atomic Hundred and rumour has it, it is nearing double Radium status on this one but this is actually not why we are here today…
Chris Miller over the course of the past week has rocketed his second track to Radium status and as of last night, is currently sitting on his 5th week at number 1 with his track “Long Night” dominating the Atomic Countdown!….. AGAIN!
I had the pleasure of being invited to Chris Miller’s house earlier this week to talk about all things streaming and the online world of music and was mind blown where he streams from.
“Everyone says that!” Miller said as I mentioned I had a hugely different image in my head as to what his studio would look like!
Thinking it was situated in the corner of a garage or giant room, it’s literally in a converted dining area of his family home a step or two away from his kids rooms and less than five meters from the fridge (handy!) with what has to be the best light I have seen in a stream setup!
With guitars up the side wall, a heap of cables running left and right and a plethora of Rode Microphones and pedals everywhere, you would be forgiven for thinking Chris is flying the Crew Dragon, not playing a gig from his house to the entire world!
“The setup has evolved from what looked like a hostage room to what it is today. Over the last nearly two years, I have slowly built on it” Chris said as he showed me around the wildly chaotic yet functional and creative scene for the show he performs three nights a week! Chris mentioned “The majority of what you see has been bought from the subs, donations and income generated from the streams”.
By day, Chris is a financial planner crunching numbers for clients in Albury/Wodonga and looking after his local Auskick branch as their treasurer but three nights a week, he switches the room on and stands in living rooms all around the world.
Going by the stats we have on his tracks, he is getting hits in Europe, United States, Canada among many countries. Chris is certainly the widest spread artist we have had on our network to date!
“I was asked once how often I practice playing and I said 12-20 hours a week! It’s great because I get to use the stream as a place to practice new songs as well as perform!” Said Chris.
Chris Miller goes live Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights on Twitch taking your requests, learning tracks as he goes and impressing audiences everywhere!
You can listen, stream, share and buy Chris’s Radium Status track “Long Night” on the Stream.Space along side his Atomic debut “Not Crazy” and all the live tracks from TheBAR Sessions.
